Delete your Scrub Social account
Delete it yourself, in the app
This is the fastest way and takes about ten seconds.
- Open Scrub Social and sign in.
- Go to the Profile tab, then tap Settings (the gear icon).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when asked. Your account and data are removed immediately.
There is no waiting period and no way to undo it, so make sure you're ready.
Ask us to delete it for you
If you've lost access to your account or can't open the app, email support@scrubsocialapp.com from the address you signed up with, and ask us to delete your account. We'll confirm it's really you, delete everything listed below, and reply to confirm. This normally takes one to two business days and never more than 30 days.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your login and password
- Your profile — name, username, role, specialty, cities, bio, interests, and assignment dates
- Your profile photo and the photos you uploaded, including photos in your messages and event chats
- All of your direct messages, both sent and received
- Events you created, along with their chat and RSVP lists. Anyone going to one that hadn't happened yet gets a cancellation notice (if they have event notifications on).
- Your RSVPs and invitations to other people's events
- Your community board posts and board memberships
- Your crew connections and requests
- Your block list and any reports you filed
- Your notification settings and the link to your phone for push notifications
- Any city requests you sent us
What is kept, and for how long
A few things remain after your account is gone. None of them identify you.
- Anonymous usage counts. We record basic events like "the app was opened" or "an event was created" to understand how the app is used. When you delete your account, your name is detached from these records — they become anonymous numbers with no link to you. They are deleted entirely after 180 days.
- Groups you started, and events you co-hosted with someone. So they keep working for the people in them, a group passes to its longest-standing member and an event passes to its co-host. Your own messages in them are deleted. A group or event picture you added stays while it's still in use.
- Community boards you started. A board is a shared space, so it stays for the people using it, but it is no longer attributed to you, and its picture stays. Your posts inside it are deleted.
- Crash reports. If the app crashed while you were using it, the technical report is kept for up to 90 days to help us fix the problem, then deleted automatically. These contain device and error information, not your messages or profile.
- Messages other people wrote. Your messages are deleted from both sides of every conversation. Content that other people created and that never belonged to you — their own posts and events — stays as theirs.
- Records we're required to keep. In rare cases we may keep a limited record for legal reasons, such as a safety report involving your account. We keep only what is necessary and delete it as soon as we can.
Delete some of your content without deleting your account
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove something. Inside the app you can delete your own messages, board posts, and events, remove your profile photo, or clear any profile field. You can also turn off Discoverable in Settings › Privacy to hide your profile from other travelers while keeping your account.
